A hand-built stoneware dish painted in nested rainbow arcs, wide and shallow enough to hold incense, jewelry, or whatever small things need a place to land. The 'Nested' pattern was created with the SFMOMA museum store for its 2025 Ruth Asawa retrospective, drawn from the woven, layered forms of Asawa's hanging wire sculptures.
Hand-built stoneware, hand-painted
Measures approx. 8" x 1.75"
Crafted by MQuan Studio, the New York ceramics practice of artist Michele Quan, whose hand-painted stoneware draws on the symbols of Buddhist iconography to make objects for peace, love, and remembering.
